IMPACTS
Talent Showcase:
We have hosted multiple tournaments designed to give young players exposure, confidence and the chance to be scouted. These tournaments created a positive space for young people to compete, connect and showcase their talent. We have teamed up with youth initiatives to create "rising talent tournaments" which we have successfully delivered in 2025.
Yarnee has also taken part in wider community football events, including the Rio Ferdinand Tournament in Northern Ireland, where the experience helped raise awareness around Northern Ireland’s history, youth unity and knife crime prevention.
Social Awareness and education:
Yarnee has supported causes that affect young people and wider communities, using events and sport as a way to raise awareness and start meaningful conversations. We supported DKMS awareness through a 7-a-side tournament and also took part in the London Charity Cycle, helping spread the message around stem cell donation and the importance of registering as a donor.
We have also participated in Stephen Lawrence Day initiatives, including a community football match in Barking on 15 May 2022, as well as live-streamed events focused on art, music, poetry, youth unity and racial justice. To raise awareness about Stephen Lawrence's story. We have also carried out knife crime awareness sessions, youth unity conversations and events centred around positive decision-making, safety and community responsibility. Our aim has been to create spaces where young people can speak openly, learn from others and feel part of something positive.

Community Bridging and Cultural Celebration :
Yarnee has also taken part in community initiatives designed to improve relationships between young people and public services. This included participating in a Met Police match in Bromley, using football as a way to bridge the gap between young people and the police. These types of events help create better understanding, stronger communication and more positive engagement.
Yarnee’s community work has also been recognised publicly.
Through the Youth Unity Music Event, we helped deliver a free music event that brought young people together through performance, creativity and positive community energy. Yarnee also received a Youth Unity Award from Havering Council in recognition of our positive work in the community.
This recognition reflects the impact of the work and the importance of continuing to create opportunities for young people across sport, music, fashion and culture.
Fashion is at the heart of Yarnee, but our work has always been connected to culture and identity.
Through events such as the Windrush Festival pop-up runway, Yarnee used fashion as a way to celebrate heritage, creativity and representation. The runway created a space where young people could express themselves while also raising awareness of Windrush, Caribbean culture and the importance of remembering community history.
Creative Empowerment
Yarnee has always believed that young creatives need more than encouragement — they need real platforms.
We have independently funded music videos, helped release music for upcoming artists and supported them in getting their work onto platforms such as Spotify. This gave young artists the opportunity to present themselves professionally and take their first steps into the music industry.
We have also supported young actors through involvement in the promotion of Blacks Can’t Swim, helping raise awareness around the stigma that ethnic communities cannot swim, while also highlighting the serious issue of water safety.
